Physiotherapy appointments
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a private physiotherapy appointment without a referral. A referral may be required for Medicare or another third-party funding arrangement.
How long are appointments?
Initial physiotherapy appointments are 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are generally 45 minutes.
Do you provide hands-on treatment?
Yes, where it is clinically appropriate and likely to be helpful. Hands-on care may be combined with education, exercise and active rehabilitation.
Do I need a diagnosis or scan?
No. Please bring any existing reports or medical correspondence, but you do not need to arrange imaging before attending unless another healthcare professional has recommended it.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows the relevant area to be assessed and bring any relevant referrals, reports or funding documentation.
Do you treat sports injuries?
Centred Ground treats recreational and activity-related concerns, including injuries associated with climbing, yoga, gym training and everyday exercise. It is not a high-performance sports clinic.
Fees, payments & rebates
Where are current fees shown?
Current physiotherapy fees are displayed when you book online.
Can I claim through private health insurance?
Physiotherapy may be claimable depending on your cover. HICAPS is available, so eligible claims can often be processed on the spot. Please confirm your expected rebate with your health fund.
How do Medicare referrals work?
Eligible clients may receive a Medicare rebate under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan. The full fee is paid at the appointment and the rebate is then paid directly to you by Medicare. These appointments are not bulk billed.
Women’s Health Physiotherapy
Do I have to have an internal examination?
No. It is only offered where clinically useful and after the process and alternatives have been explained. You may decline, pause or stop at any time.
Can you assess prolapse?
Juliana can screen for signs that may suggest prolapse, but does not provide formal grading, comprehensive prolapse management or pessary prescription. Referral may be recommended.
Can I attend during pregnancy or postpartum?
Yes, for appropriate pelvic floor, movement and straightforward musculoskeletal concerns. The assessment will be adapted to your stage, symptoms and medical care.
Strong Seniors
Who are the classes for?
Strong Seniors is a small, physiotherapist-led program for older adults wanting to build strength, balance, mobility, pelvic floor health and confidence.
How large are the classes?
Classes are limited to six participants and run for 60 minutes.
Do I need an assessment before joining?
Yes. A short 30-minute individual assessment with Juliana is required to set goals and baseline measures before you begin your classes.
What if the class is full?
You can enquire about current vacancies or join the waiting list.
Coaching & Hypnotherapy
Who is it for?
Coaching & Hypnotherapy is intended for adults seeking focused support with personal change, repeated patterns, confidence, decision-making or feeling stuck. Hypnotherapy may also be used to support people living with persistent pain, including the way pain affects thoughts, emotions, confidence and everyday life.
Can hypnotherapy help with persistent pain?
Hypnotherapy may be used as a complementary approach for persistent or recurring pain, particularly where pain has begun to affect confidence, activity, sleep, stress or day-to-day life. It does not replace appropriate medical assessment or physiotherapy where these are needed.
Is it mental health treatment?
No. It is not a replacement for psychology, psychiatry, counselling, addiction treatment, crisis support or specialised trauma care.
Will every session involve hypnosis?
No. Sessions may draw on coaching, hypnotherapy and NLP techniques depending on your goals, preferences and what is appropriate.
How do I book?
A limited number of appointments are available by enquiry within dedicated consulting times.
Independent practitioners
Are all practitioners employed by Centred Ground?
No. Independent practitioners operate their own businesses and manage their own services, records, fees, availability, policies and bookings.
How do I book with them?
Visit the practitioner’s profile for links to their website and direct contact details.
Can practitioners communicate about my care?
Where relevant, information will only be shared with your knowledge and consent and in accordance with each practitioner’s professional obligations.
